York City Police officers were seen in the area shortly after. A large section of the street had been blocked off to traffic so police could investigate. Officers were investigating a brown sedan, which had a damaged front driver's side window.

Responding officers were not authorized to speak to media, and they deferred all comment to a patrol supervisor. A patrol supervisor could not be immediately reached for comment Wednesday night.

Nervous: Watching the police officers investigate was Amy Rodrick, who lives nearby. Rodrick said she was inside her home when she heard about three shots, which she described as very loud, shortly after 7 p.m. She said a friend called her and told her that police were outside her block. When she got out to the street, police had shown up but had not yet blocked off the area.

Rodrick, a lifelong York City resident, said she hears gunshots about three to four times a week. She has three kids, and she said she's nervous.

"I'm very nervous that something's gonna happen, because you never know," she said.

Rodrick said the shootings have gotten worse recently, adding that the shootings are happening earlier in the night.

"People, they don't care," she said. "They're just shooting."
