Springettsbury Police: Rutter's robber had a knife
Springettsbury Township Police are working to identify a man who walked into the Rutter's on Arsenal Road early Monday morning and robbed the clerk at knifepoint, according to a news release.
The incident took place at 1:46 a.m. at the Rutter's convenience store at 725 Arsenal Road, just off North Sherman Street.
According to the release, a white man in his late teens or early 20s wearing a gray hoodie went into the store, displayed a knife and demanded money from the register.
"This is the first one of these we've had in a while, an armed robbery," Sgt. Stefan Kochansky said.
Description: Investigators are working on getting security camera footage from the store to try to identify the robber, but based on what the clerk told police, the photos might not be of much help.
"She said his hood was pulled tight, close to his face. And his clothing was not easily identifiable," Kochansky said.
None of the robber's clothing displayed a brand name or sports franchise the clerk found immediately recognizable, he said. The robber fled on foot in an unknown direction with an undisclosed amount of money.
"We don't really have much to go on at this point," Kochansky added.
Anyone with information regarding the robbery is asked to contact the Springettsbury Police Department at (717) 757-3525 or call Crime Stoppers at (717) 755-TIPS. Information leading to an arrest and conviction is eligible for a cash reward.
