The shooting death of Shannon Martin, the 36-year-old York City man whose body was found on a gravel path along the southbound lanes of Interstate 83 near the Glen Rock exit Friday morning, has officially been ruled a homicide by the York County Coroner's Office following an autopsy.
A coroner's report released Monday listed multiple gunshot wounds as the cause of death. The manner of death is entered as homicide.
The Pennsylvania State Police at Loganville are investigating.
According to the report, state police were called to the area of I-83 South at Exit 8 after drivers reported seeing a body. According to a state police report, it appeared Martin was killed somewhere else and his body was later moved to the location where it was discovered.
The body is not thought to have been there long before being found, the coroner's report said.
A GoFundMe account started by a friend of Martin's girlfriend states the couple had three children and a set of twins on the way.
State police ask that anyone with information regarding Martin's death call the Loganville barracks at 717-428-1011 or text tips to 717-418-8829.
