West York man sentenced in child rape
- A West York couple were sentenced to state prison time in a 2015 child rape case Tuesday.
- Delbert Craley, once facing 28 counts of child sexual assault crimes, pleaded guilty to a single charge of child rape.
- Craley will serve up to 15 years in prison, and his wife will serve six months to two years plus probation.
A West York man who pleaded guilty to a single count of child rape in February was sentenced Tuesday to seven to 15 years in state prison.
Delbert Craley, 75, was initially charged with four counts of child rape as well as multiple other charges, including involuntary deviate sexual intercourse with a child, indecent assault on a person less than 13 years of age, corruption of minors and endangering the welfare of a child.
Rape of a child: Charging documents allege the acts Craley pleaded guilty to include forcing a 6-year-old girl to perform oral sex on him. The documents also state Craley and his wife, Kim Craley, 50, fondled the girl together.
Wife sentenced also: Kim Craley pleaded guilty to corruption of minors Tuesday and was sentenced to six months to a year in jail and two years of probation. Both Craleys received credit for time served: Delbert had 488 days on the books, and his wife had 49. Both also were ordered to pay court costs and will undergo sex offender treatment.
