A Carroll Township man who pleaded guilty in 2015 to two counts of corruption of minors after being charged with child rape is again on the wrong side of the law after probation officers discovered 118 images of child pornography on his cellphone.

Dwayne Pope, 43, of 425 Range End Road in Dillsburg, is charged with 118 felony counts of possession of child pornography. He was initially charged with sexually assaulting an 8-year-old and a 9-year-old girl multiple times over several years, but he pleaded guilty to corruption of minors. He was placed on probation in March of this year by District Judge Michael E. Bortner.

On May 5, probation officers conducting an unannounced visit on Pope — a registered sex offender since his conviction — found Pope "acting nervous" because he had some Playboy magazines in the home, according to charging documents. Additional probation officers responded and assisted with a search of Pope's residence and found a pornographic calendar in his bedroom, along with two pairs of children's underwear under his pillow.

Pope admitted the underwear belonged to a child he is familiar with. He told officers he "wipes up" with the underwear after self-stimulation, the documents said.

A forensic analysis of Pope's home computer found that he accessed pornographic material on his Netflix account, and a cellphone inspected by officers was found to contain 118 images of nude girls ages 9 to 13 in sexually suggestive poses.

At a preliminary arraignment Tuesday before District Judge Richard T. Thomas, Pope was given a secured bond of $50,000. At the time of this report, Pope remained in jail. He is scheduled for a preliminary hearing in Thomas' court July 11.
