Child pornography charges for Mount Wolf man
Donald Hildebrand Jr., 43, is free on a $25,000 unsecured bond after his arrest Wednesday on child pornography charges.
A formal arraignment has been scheduled for July 8.
According to charging documents, an investigation conducted by Detective Michael Baker of the Northern York County Regional Police Department Cyber Crime Task Force in January of this year revealed Hildebrand was in possession of three images of child pornography. The investigation stemmed from Baker monitoring a web-based file-sharing network sometimes used for disseminating child porn.
After locating an image of child pornography shared on the network, Baker traced the IP address of the person who downloaded the photo to an account held by Comcast Communications. Through a search warrant executed on Comcast, Baker was able to further trace the subscriber's information and identify the account holder as Hildebrand, the charging documents said.
On Jan. 21, Baker executed another search warrant, this time on Hildebrand's home at 58 S. Fourth St. in Mount Wolf. Several computers, hard drives and other hardware seized in the search were analyzed by a computer forensics team that identified two additional images of child pornography belonging to Hildebrand.
Hildebrand has since been charged with one count of dissemination of child pornography and two counts of possession of child pornography.
Through an administrative assistant, Hildebrand's attorney, Thomas Lincoln Kearney IV, said he did not have any comment at this time regarding his client.
