Grocery and drug stores continue to battle supply chain issues and shortages.

Trader Joe’s is no exception.

The chain announced it is discontinuing six of its own items due to supply chain issues. All the items are pet foods that will no longer be sold due to “inconsistent availability and ongoing sourcing issues,” Trader Joe’s said in a statement.

The chain is discontinuing:

  • Ocean Fish, Salmon & Rice Dinner Premium Cat Food
  • Turkey & Giblets Dinner Premium Cat Food
  • Grain Free Salmon Recipe Cat Food
  • Grain Free Turkey Recipe Cat Food
  • Grain Free Beef Recipe Dog Food
  • Grain Free Chicken Recipe Dog Food

The items will no longer be stocked once they are sold out in stores.

“Given the time and care involved in introducing our furry, four-legged friends to new foods, we hope this notice enables you to prepare for the transition accordingly. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience,” the chain said.

Roughly 80% of Trader Joe’s products are made by its own private label.

While pet owners may find themselves having to switch brands, Eat This Not That points out there are other Trader Joe options available. The canned Grain Free Chicken Recipe Dog Food along with the canned Grain Free Beef Dog Food are still available, as are treats such as Grain Free Peanut Butter and Banana, Pumpkin Maple Bakon Stuffies, Cheeseburger Treats, and Chew-Cuterie assorted treats.
