Coroner identifies woman who died after Saturday crash in Springettsbury Twp.

Two people were taken to the hospital after a crash in Springettsbury Township Saturday Feb. 2, 2021

An 87-year-old woman was killed in a crash Saturday in Springettsbury Township, police said.

The crash happened about 2:30 p.m. at the intersection of East Market Street and South Mills Street, according to a release from Springettsbury Township Police, when a Mazda CX7 struck a Ford F150 while attempting to make a left turn.

York Area United Fire and Rescue Battalion had to extricate both passengers from the Mazda before transporting them to the hospital, police said.

One passenger, Mary Boswa, 87, of Columbia, Lancaster County, died immediately after arriving at WellSpan York Hospital, according to the York County Coroner's Office. 

The driver of the SUV was being treated Saturday evening for his injuries, police said.

The driver of the Ford was treated on the scene for minor injures, police said.

An autopsy for Boswa was scheduled for Monday morning at Lehigh Valley Hospital, according to the coroner's office.
