Police: Hallam man raped child

A Hallam man has been arrested after police said he raped a young girl. 

Jon Fitzgerald Jackson, of the 400 block of Buttonwood Lane, faces seven felony charges, according to charging documents.

They include rape of a child; involuntary deviate sexual intercourse with a child; involuntary deviate sexual intercourse with a person less than 16 years old; aggravated indecent assault of a child; aggravated indecent assault of child less than 13 years old; indecent assault of a person less than 13 years old; and corruption of a minor by a defendant age 18 or above.

Jackson, 57, is also charged with two misdemeanors: indecent assault of person less than 13 years old, and indecent exposure.

He is in York County Prison on $50,000 bail. He was arraigned Friday before District Judge John H. Fishel. A preliminary hearing is scheduled Feb. 12 before Fishel.

Jackson raped the girl in 2019 and 2020, state police said in charging documents.
