Two York County women accused in stabbing
Two York County women are charged with felonies following a Wednesday stabbing in Red Lion that sent a third woman to the hospital with severe stab wounds, according to police.
Alexus Dawn Kinard, 19, of the 500 block of West Market Street in York City, is charged with the felonies of attempted homicide, aggravated assault and conspiracy to commit aggravated assault, plus misdemeanor charges of simple assault and possessing an instrument of crime.
Kinard was arraigned Wednesday evening and is being held at York County Prison without bail.
Emma Jo Hagan, 20, of the York area, was arraigned Thursday morning on felony charges of aggravated assault and conspiracy to commit that offense, as well as the misdemeanors of simple assault and criminal mischief. She is free on $75,000 bail, according to court records.
State police were dispatched about 11:15 p.m. Wednesday to the 300 block of East Broadway in Red Lion for a reported stabbing. They found a woman suffering from severe stab wounds including to her back, groin and arms, according to charging documents.
The woman was taken to a local hospital, where she told investigators that she had been sitting in her car in a parking lot when four people pulled up in a gold Honda sedan. She said Kinard, Hagan, a juvenile and a man started vandalizing her car — slashing tires and breaking windows.
"She got out of the vehicle to defend herself by using pepper spray," charging documents state. "The pepper spray was ineffective, so she began fighting with Hagan."
Police allege that while the woman was being stabbed by Kinard, the others jumped her, and Hagan slammed her head into a dumpster. Police said the four fled the scene after the attack.
