83 new COVID-19 cases in York County, 1 death

York County had 83 new cases of COVID-19 as of noon Tuesday, pushing the case total to 6,881 since the outbreak began, the state Health Department reported.

There was one additional death linked to COVID-19 reported, increasing the overall death toll to 208.

Statewide, 2,420 new cases were reported. There have been about 215,000 cases of COVID-19 in Pennsylvania since the outbreak began.

There were also 32 new deaths in Pennsylvania, according to the Health Department. The death toll now stands at 8,855.

There have been 2.4 million patients in the state who have tested negative for COVID-19, more than 76,000 of whom reside in York County.

As of Tuesday, more than 9.3 million cases of COVID-19 had been confirmed in the U.S., according to Johns Hopkins University. Deaths linked to the disease surpassed 231,000.

Worldwide, there have been more than 46.6 million confirmed cases and more than 1.2 million deaths.
