Trunk or treat event connects with community in New Freedom

Grace Bible Church hosted its third annual "trunk or treat" event in New Freedom on Saturday.

A dozen well-decorated cars were parked around the edges of the church's lot with themes such as "Paw Patrol," may the faith be with you, the Wild West, "The Wizard of Oz" and "Footprints in the Sand."

“We’re really just trying to bring the hope of God to the children,” said Grace Bible Church Pastor Adam Burt. The church is also trying to “spread some joy and some love and some candy, as well,” he added.

“We’re out here today for Raelynn’s first Halloween as a toddler,” said Mullaney Thomas, of North Codorus Township, as she and Jeff Standiford walked around the lot with their 1-year-old daughter.

Burt said the church enjoys participating in the community, and that they “try to just be a blessing to the children that are around our area.”
