The Belmont Theatre is producing an online show just in time for the Halloween season.

Volunteer digital coordinator Allison Rambler works with the Belmont Theatre's Artistic Director Rene Staub during the filming of "A Virtual Stage Fright" at the theater Friday, Oct. 16, 2020. The performance, featuring an array of ghost stories from the York area and beyond, is available to view Oct. 23 at 7:30 p.m. and through Nov. 1 at www.thebelmont.org. Viewers are encouraged to donate to the Belmont online, by calling the theater at 717-854-5715, or mailing donations to 27 South Belmont Street, York, PA 17403. Bill Kalina photo

“A Virtual Stage Fright” is a storytelling production with a bent on the ghostly. Charlotte Flynn Michalski, an actor from Fairview Township, and the Belmont’s artistic director, Rene Staub, will present ghost stories from the York area and the region in a Victorian-style stage set.

“We’re not able to have a full audience in the theater, so we wanted to invite everyone – in spirit – to see ghost stories,” Staub said, in reference to COVID-19 restrictions.

The theater is a fitting venue, Staub said, since the crew there has observed some ghostly activity in the building.

“We hear things,” he said, adding that the theater once had a psychic visit.

The show is being produced by the theater’s digital coordinator, Allison Rambler.

“A Virtual Stage Fright” debuts 7:30 p.m. Oct. 23 and will run online through Nov. 1 at www.thebelmont.org. Viewers are encouraged to donate to the Belmont online by calling the theater at 717-854-5715 or mailing donations to 27 South Belmont St., York, PA 17403.
