Nearly 100 children took part in the first pumpkin hunt in Glen Rock Park on Sunday.

The children searched the park for the perfect miniature pumpkin to decorate with paint, glitter, gems and other items.

The pumpkin hunt was the start of several Halloween activities at and around the park. Sunday evening, the second annual Bow Wow Trick or Treat was held in the dog park for local pets to show off their costumes, have a photo taken and receive treats.

The first Family-Friendly Hay Bale Halloween Scavenger Hunt kicks off Monday and runs from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily through Oct. 31. The self-guided scavenger hunt features decorated hay bales around the town. Participants need to log on to the event Facebook page for the first clue, then collect letters at each of the eight scenes to reveal a hidden message and discover how to receive a sweet reward at the last clue.

This year's events are sponsored by the Glen Rock Rec Board and Macaroni Kid South York PA.
