A York City man died after being shot in the city Thursday evening, York City Police said.

City police were called to the 600 block of Wallace Street shortly after 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 7, for a shooting. The victim was identified as 49-year old Vincent Holmes Jr., who lived on that block, according to the York County Coroner's Office.

Officers discovered Holmes, who had been shot, and he was taken to York Hospital. He was pronounced dead at 7:06 p.m. Thursday at the hospital, the coroner's office said.

An autopsy was performed Friday, and it was determined that Holmes died from multiple gunshot wounds, with the manner of death homicide, the coroner said.
