Annual art exhibition celebrates York County's high school artists

York College of Pennsylvania’s annual York Community Art Scholars Exhibition (YCASE) celebrates the art produced by area high school students.

More than 400 pieces of art by aspiring artists from York County high schools will be on exhibit in a three-day event this month. 

The annual York Community Art Scholars Exhibition, hosted by York College, will be held Thursday to Saturday, Oct. 24-26.

The program will begin with Art Walk, a series of exhibitions at different locations in downtown York City. Each location will feature artwork from one or two different high schools. 

The following locations, each showcasing a different school's art, will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. all three days of Art Walk: 

  • Richard R. Reilly, Attorney at Law, 54 N. Duke St.: Central York High School
  • Marketview Arts, 37 W. Philadelphia St.: Dover Area High School and Dallastown Area High School
  • Downtown Inc, 2 E. Market St.: Red Lion Area High School
  • Gallery at 227, 227 W. Market St.: West York Area High School
  • One West, 1 W. Market St.: William Penn High School
  • I-ron-ic Coffee, 256 W. Philadelphia St.: York Country Day School
  • Murphy & Dittenhafer Architects COD, 226 W. Market St.: York County School of Technology
  • York College Center for Community Engagement, 59 E. Market St.: York Suburban High School

A reception for Art Walk will begin at 6 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 24, at Marketview Arts.

After the three-day exhibition, artwork will be selected by juror Kristen Letts Kovak to be featured in the YCASE Finalist Exhibition from Nov. 1 through 23 on the third floor of Marketview Arts.

This year's theme is identity.
