A Spring Garden Township man was arrested in connection to an attempted car robbery.

Kevin Hamilton, 18, was arrested by York City Police on Tuesday, Oct. 8. Hamilton, along with an accomplice, approached an individual's car and pointed a gun at the victim, demanding he turn the car over, according to a news release from York City Police.

Police were called to the 200 block of Willis Road around 5 p.m.  Monday, Oct. 7. The victim told police that he was able to drive away. As he was escaping, Hamilton struck the back of his car with his gun, the release states.

Hamilton also stole a vehicle earlier this month, according to police.

Officer Derek Hartman, the department's spokesman, said Hamilton robbed someone of their vehicle around 7:20 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 3, at the at the Sunoco at 260 N. Sherman St.

Hamilton was with one juvenile and an unidentified person when they stole the car, according to Hartman. He said they crashed the car in the 200 block of Park Place and everyone inside fled.

The juvenile was taken into custody, he said, but Hamilton wasn't arrested until Tuesday.

He is charged with multiple felonies, including robbery of a vehicle, conspiracy to commit that offense, receiving stolen property and a misdemeanor of criminal mischief.

He remains in York County Prison on $150,000 bail.

The second person with him in both robberies has yet to be identified.
