The American Library Association is promoting September as Library Card Sign-Up Month, and York County Libraries is encouraging residents to register for a card.

From story times for young children to educational resources for students and programs for senior citizens, the library has something for everyone, said Deb Sullivan, spokeswoman for York County Libraries.

"Whether you want to learn a language or learn more about something for school, a library card is a free way to get those things," she said.

York County residents can sign up for a card online at yorklibraries.org or by visiting any of the libraries listed below. Fall operating hours are included in the information for each branch.
