A motorcyclist was found dead Thursday morning in Newberry Township, according to the York County Coroner's Office.

The coroner's office said in a news release that the man was found dead near Pleasant View Drive and Red Mill Road about 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 15.

The victim was identified as Paul Swartz, 56, whose most recent address was in Wormleysburg, Cumberland County.

Coroner Pam Gay said a passerby found him down an embankment under some foliage that morning.
