York County under severe thunderstorm watch until 10 p.m. Sunday

The National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm watch for York County until 10 p.m. Sunday, June 2.

Storms could produce winds of 60 mph or greater as well as large hail more than one inch in diameter, according to the NWS at State College.

York County and the surrounding region has seen a spate of severe storms over the past few weeks. A storm on Wednesday, May 29, produced winds that knocked trees down onto houses, roads and power lines, and one man was reportedly struck by lightning.
