WellSpan: New traffic pattern at York Hospital to last about a year

Lindsey O'Laughlin
York Dispatch

A new traffic pattern will be temporarily implemented at WellSpan York Hospital beginning Monday, Oct. 15.

The hospital announced in a news release that the traffic circle next to the main entrance will be partially closed due to construction near the north entrance, and that changes will be in place for about a year.

Traffic approaching the main entrance from Rathton Road will follow a detour through the first entrance of the main visitor parking garage, which is across from the Medical Education Pavilion.

Exiting traffic will be directed to the main entrance, and motorists will then follow a detour around the open part of the traffic circle, then back through the garage and out toward the Rathton Road exit.

Pick-up and drop-off for Rabbit Transit buses and hospital shuttles will also move from the main entrance to the emergency department entrance.

There will be new signage and extra support services to direct visitors, patients and staff in the right direction.
