Tornado watch extended to York County
York County is under a tornado watch until 11 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 2, according to the National Weather Service.
Much of the state has been under a tornado watch since Tuesday afternoon, and the watch was extended into southcentral Pennsylvania at 5:45 p.m., the NWS said.
The watch now covers all of central Pennsylvania, including York County and all the surrounding counties.
A tornado watch means conditions are in place that could cause a tornado to occur. If funnel-type winds are seen on radar, the NWS will issue a tornado warning.
