RV setback topic of Springetts public hearing
- A public hearing will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Aug. 23 at the 1501 Mount Zion Road administrative building to clarify the township's setback rule, according to the township's website.
Springettsbury residents who have recreational vehicles on their properties may soon have to honor the fine print of a township regulation change.
A public hearing will be held at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 23, at the township's 1501 Mount Zion Road administrative building to clarify the township's setback rule, according to the township's website.
Any resident wishing to tell supervisors' their thoughts about the setback rule is allowed during the hearing.
"This hearing is for a revision to the codes to resolve a difference between two sections of the code regulating the parking of RV's on residential properties," township manager Ben Marchant said. "The conflict is that one part says there's a 20-foot setback and the other part says there's a 200-foot setback. The intent is that the RV must be parked 20 feet from the right-of-way or must not extend beyond the front profile of the house."
Supervisors will most likely vote on the matter during the regular meeting, which follows the public hearing.
