York City homicide suspect turns himself in
A suspect in an April York City homicide turned himself in on Tuesday, Aug. 14, police said.
Brandon Dejesus, 28, of Smyser Street in York City, was wanted on homicide charges in the death of Luis Iona, York City Police said.
Iona was killed at 12:25 a.m. April 15 in the area of Duke and South streets, police said.
Dejesus turned himself in at 3 p.m. Tuesday at the York City Police Department, 50 W. King St. He was with his attorney and family members, police said.
Inoa, 27, of Shenandoah, Schuylkill County, was found with gunshot wounds at about 12:45 a.m. April 15 in the area of South Duke Street at South Street.
Police say Dejesus shot Inoa with a shotgun while Chayanne Ramirez, 28, shot Inoa with a handgun from across the street. Officials said the two suspects knew Inoa and targeted him.
Dejesus will be charged with homicide, aggravated assault, discharge of a firearm into an occupied structure and recklessly endangering another person. He made no statement after turning himself in, and he was taken to central booking, police said.
Police are still searching for Ramirez, who will be charged with attempted homicide and aggravated assault.
