Christian School of York welcomes first female Head of School

Christian School of York welcomes a new leader this summer — its first female Head of School.

Eden Hinds will be the new head of the Manchester Township private school for the 2018-19 school year, bringing 25 years of experience from a diverse number of roles in education.

Relocating from Houston, she previously served as middle school head, principal, district office professional development leader, grants officer, educational specialist, assistant principal and teacher, according to a news release.

She has three graduate degrees in education and education administration from Samford University and is in the process of finishing her doctoral program in ethical leadership from the University of St. Thomas, the release states.

“I am truly humbled to be joining the Christian School of York as Head of School and becoming a part of a family that speaks to my deepest values and passion,” she stated.

The school's commitment to faith and education is important to Hinds.

“When God is central in our lives, including education, the school community becomes the blessing it was designed to be," she stated. "There is a special story to be written at CSY and His presence here is strongly felt.”

The school, entering its 62nd year this August, prides itself on serving students and families in central Pennsylvania across school districts and socio-economic levels, the release states.

CSY provides pre-K-12th grade education that is "biblically sound, Christ-honoring and of high academic standard," according to the news release.
