Police: Two shot in York City park Saturday night

Two people were shot in York City Saturday night, police said Sunday morning.

The shootings happened at 9:36 p.m. Saturday, July 14, at Bantz Park, 798 Salem Ave., according to a news release from York City Police.

Both were taken to York Hospital in a private vehicle, police said.

One man from the York area was shot in the pelvis and was listed in critical condition in York Hospital, police said.

The other victim, Al'lante McCowin, 19, of York City, was shot in the shoulder and was listed in stable condition, police said.

This was the second shooting incident in York City on Saturday.

Angelizabeth Vargas-Cabrera, 26, of York, was shot once in the right ankle just before 11 a.m. July 14 in the 100 block of South Richland Avenue, according to a news release from the city police department.

She was transported to York Hospital, where she was in stable condition Saturday afternoon, police said.
