Two York County women killed in separate crashes Friday
Two women were killed in separate vehicle crashes Friday in York County.
A woman died Friday morning in Dallastown when the car she was driving was T-boned by an oncoming SUV, officials said.
It happened about 10 a.m. Friday, July 6, in the 500 block of East Main Street, according to York Area Regional Police.
Killed was Kathleen Ciccone, 71, of Blossom Hill Lane in York Township, according to York County Coroner Pam Gay.
Ciccone was pulling out of a driveway in the block in a Toyota Corolla and making a left onto East Main Street when her driver-side doors were struck by an oncoming Ford Escape SUV, police said in a news release.
The SUV's driver suffered injuries in the crash, police said. That driver's name has not been released by police.
Ciccone, who was wearing a seat belt, was pronounced dead at the scene at 10:36 a.m., according to Gay, who said Ciccone died of multiple traumatic injuries.
Her death has been ruled accidental, Gay said.
Ciccone's body had to be extricated from the wreckage, according to the coroner's office.
No autopsy is planned, Gay said, although routine toxicology testing is being done.
There were passengers inside the SUV at the time, the coroner's office said.
Police are asking witnesses who haven't yet spoken to officers to call York Area Regional Police at 717-741-1259, or reach an officer by calling 911.
A Thomasville woman died later Friday in Conewago Township vehicle crash.
Emily Reeser, 55, of the 5000 block of Pine Road, lost control of her vehicle on Lewisberry Road near Jug Road at about 5:45 p.m., according to a news release from the York County Coroner’s Office.
Her vehicle reportedly swerved “for some time” before striking a guide rail and crashing, coming to rest down an embankment in a field, the coroner’s office stated.
Reeser was not wearing her seatbelt and was ejected from the vehicle, according to the release.
She died at the scene.
There will be no autopsy, the coroner’s office stated, but a routine toxicology test will be performed.
