York City's latest homicide victim was able to make it inside his home and tell his girlfriend the name of his killer before dying in her arms, according to police.

"Reeko," Elijah Shuler said on Wednesday, July 4, after collapsing into the arms of girlfriend Margarita Colon, according to charging documents filed Thursday by York City detectives.

Detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Timothy Tireik Pough, 20, of the 1000 block of West Poplar Street in the city.

Shuler, 22, of the 900 block of West Locust Street, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the York County Coroner's Office.

An autopsy has been set for Friday, July 6, at Allentown's Lehigh Valley Hospital, the coroner's office said.

Police have said Shuler was shot at least twice about 7:30 p.m. Wednesday after parking along Heiges Street, the alley that runs behind West Locust Street.

Shuler's sister had, in the past, been romantically involved with Pough, according to police, who said Pough is known as "Reeko."

Lt. Gene Fells, who supervises the city's detective bureau, said investigators have identified a possible motive but can't yet speak about it publicly.

Charging documents filed by Detective Tim Shermeyer state that Shuler was driving his sister's car when he pulled into a parking spot behind his home.

Shuler called Colon to tell her he was home, according to the detective, after which she went to a second-floor rear window, according to the detective.

Drive-by shooting: That's when Colon saw a westbound white Ford Escape being driven by a woman in the alley — and watched as Pough fired a gun through the Escape's open rear passenger window, documents allege. The Escape then fled the scene, police said.

A number of other witnesses in the area reported to police that they witnessed Pough shooting Shuler, documents state.

Shuler made it through his back door and into the kitchen, where he was met by Colon, who by that time had run downstairs, police said.

That's where Shuler collapsed in Colon's arms and said the name "Reeko," according to charging documents.

Investigators recovered three spent shell casings from the scene, all 9 mm, police said.

Loved ones at Shuler's home on Thursday morning declined comment about him.

Anyone with information about Pough's whereabouts or the homicide is asked to call York City Police at 717-846-1234 or text "Yorktips" and your information to 847-411. The texting service is anonymous, York City Police Chief Troy Bankert said, and is the best way to submit tips.
