Flood watch extended through Saturday evening in York County
A flood watch has been extended through Saturday evening for York County and the rest of southcentral Pennsylvania.
The National Weather Service extended a flood watch for the area through the evening hours of Saturday, May 19.
Periods of heavy rain are likely Saturday afternoon, with an inch of rain total adding to the rain the area has seen over the past few days, the NWS said.
The rain will cause small rivers and streams that are already high because of the recent rains to rise, the service said.
The flooding threat will peak during the afternoon and early evening, shortly after the expected ending time of the heaviest rainfall, the NWS said.
