The York area is slated to get severe thunderstorms, high winds and other weather threats Saturday afternoon and evening.

National Weather Service aid on Facebook Friday, May 11, that numerous severe thunderstorms are possible across south central Pennsylvania from 3 to 9 p.m. Saturday, and the risk is increasing.

With the storms come hazards of accompanying winds at 60 or more miles per hour and chance of hail greater than 1 inch in diameter.

The Lower Susquehanna Valley and southeast area of the state might also face a tornado threat. 

NWS warns that impacts from the weather could include downed trees and tree limbs, power outages and property damage.
