Parts of York and Adams counties are under a severe thunderstorm warning until 6 p.m. Thursday, May 10, the National Weather Service announced.

The storm has produced nickel-sized hail and winds up to 60 mph, the NWS said.

It was moving east at 25 mph, the service said.

Hanover, York, Parkville, Spry, Weigelstown, West York, York Airport, Spring Grove, New Oxford and Lake Meade are in the path of the storm, the NWS said.

Hail damage to vehicles is possible as well as downed power lines and trees.

Residents were urged to go to lowest floor of a building and stay away from windows.
