Sobriety checkpoint scheduled for York this weekend
A sobriety checkpoint will be conducted this weekend in York County, according to the Center for Traffic Safety.
The center said in a news release that the checkpoint will be held sometime between 6 p.m. Friday and 6 p.m. Sunday.
The enforcement is part of the center's DUI/Underage Drinking Enforcement Program.
Checkpoints, DUI patrols and other activities from the program are funded with federal grant money from the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation, the release states.
Those activities are established on road sections that are proven to have a high incidence of impaired drivers, the center said.
