York County Cooperative Job Fair planned to highlight local opportunities
The York County Cooperative Job Fair will return for its 22nd year to highlight all employment opportunities available in the county and its surrounding regions.
The event, which has become a staple for serious job seekers in the area over the past two decades, will be held from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday, April 26, at the York Learning Center. The center is located at 300 E. Seventh Ave., at the former Central York High School.
Employer setup is from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., and all participants will be provided space, two lunches, two chairs and a table for displays and information.
Background: The York County Cooperative Job Fair is a nonprofit entity that brings the fair to the residents every year, according to Vicki Krotzer, fair representative.
A “soft deadline” of Friday, April 13, has been established for businesses that wish to have their names listed on the brochures; however, all businesses are accepted up to the day of the event, she said.
This year, the job fair will feature businesses such as the Crispus Attucks Community Center, Heritage Hills Resort, AMZ Manufacturing Corp., HCR ManorCare Health Services-York South, Anderson Merchandisers, Bell Socialization Services, the Community Progress Council and others.
Last year, the event featured 43 employers who marketed their open positions to an estimated 350 job seekers, Krotzer said.
Businesses that wish to register as well as job seekers who are interested in attending may visit www.yorkjobfair.org for more information.
