Police: Driver of stolen car causes multi-vehicle crash in York City

The driver of a stolen vehicle caused a multi-vehicle crash that injured four people Thursday, March, 29, in York City, officials said.

The crash happened in the 700 block of West Market Street, near South Belvidere Avenue. 

York City Police said in a news release that a vehicle was reported stolen at the intersection of Grant and West Market streets about 8:10 a.m. Thursday. 

Police tried pulling the vehicle over a short time later, but the driver didn't stop and drove through a red light, causing the four-vehicle crash, according to officials.

The suspect was taken into custody and was sent to York Hospital for treatment, the release states. The suspect will survive the injuries, according to police.

Three others were injured in the crash. They were taken to York Hospital for treatment, and they also will survive their injuries, police said.
