3-year-old and her parents killed in Carroll Township crash

A 3-year-old girl and her parents were killed in a vehicle crash in Carroll Township  on Friday, according to the York County Coroner's Office.

The crash occurred at 12:44 p.m Friday, March 23, in the 200 block of York Road, the coroner's report said. 

Destiny Rayhart, 3, and her parents, Jennifer Edler, 26, and Brandon Rayhart, 32, were all pronounced dead at the scene, the coroner said. The family lived on Harrisburg Pike in Carlisle.

Brandon Rayhart was driving a Ford Mustang north on Old York Road and crossed into the path of an oncoming Ford Escape driven by Daniel Miller, 53, of Wellsville, Carroll Township Police said. 

Miller and a 5-year-old boy who was the fourth person in the Mustang were flown to local hospitals for treatment, police said. Their conditions were not available.

Edler and Brandon Rayhart were not wearing seat belts, the coroner said. The children were in car seats.

Deputy Coroner Kayla Starner and Chief Deputy Coroner Claude Stabley confirmed the deaths at the scene of the crash.

Carroll Township Police are investigating the crash. There will be no autopsies, the coroner said.
