The bridge will be closed during construction, with traffic following a detour on York, Iron Ridge and Old Hanover roads.

The new bridge on Jacobs Mill Road (Route 3045) is scheduled to open to traffic in late June, barring unfavorable weather or unforeseen activities.

Once completed, it will be one of 15 bridges in York County to be replaced as part of the bridge replacement project, a public-private partnership between PennDOT and Plenary Walsh Keystone Partners.

According to project plans, 558 structurally deficient bridges will be replaced across the state. Six have been completed so far in York County, with a few others under construction.
