District: Eastern York student brought gun on bus
A sophomore at Eastern York High School brought an unloaded gun on a school bus last week, according to the district.
The Eastern York School District said in a statement that the student was taken into custody by Lower Windsor Township Police on Monday, Jan. 29, after she brought the gun on a school bus Friday, Jan. 26.
She wrapped the gun in a sweatshirt and put it in her backpack while on the bus Friday, and she then passed the gun off to someone else over the weekend, the district said.
Police recovered the weapon, according to the statement.
The Eastern York High School principal received a report about the gun on Sunday, Jan. 28, which prompted an "immediate investigation," according to the district.
The student, the district said, is not currently in school and faces disciplinary action.
