Coroner: Man dies 17 days after Dallastown crash

An 81-year-old man who struck a pole in a Dallastown vehicle crash died from complications from his injuries 17 days later, according to the coroner's office.

James Johnson, of the 300 block of Walnut Street in Dallastown, was driving in the area of East Main Street and Holly Hill Drive in Dallastown around 4 p.m. Jan. 9 when his vehicle hit a pole.

He was taken to York Hospital from the scene and pronounced dead at 1:45 p.m. Jan. 26.

York County Coroner Pam Gay ruled the death accidental, caused by complications from a motor vehicle accident, according to her report.

Johnson's family has been notified, and there will be no autopsy.

York Area Regional Police Department is investigating the incident.
