The bridge between Dover and West Manchester townships on Route 74 is expected to be partially closed starting next week for replacement, according to a news release from the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation.

The repairs on Route 74, also known as Carlisle Road, are expected to last into spring 2019.

PennDOT said half of the bridge carrying Route 74 traffic over Little Conewago Creek will be closed Tuesday, Jan. 23.

The bridge will be restricted to a single, 11-foot lane through April 2019. According to PennDOT, the bridge was built in 1949, and it is structurally deficient.

Kinsley Construction was contracted to do the repair work, according to the department.
