Centro Hispano Jose Hernandez, in collaboration with the city of York and York County School of Technology, kicks off its Puerto Rico se levanta, 21 Days of Giving for Puerto Rico fundraising campaign.


Centro Hispano Jose Hernandez kicked off its 21 Days of Giving for Puerto Rico campaign, Puerto Rico Se Levanta (Puerto Rico Is Rising), at Central Market in York City, coinciding with First Friday events on Jan. 5. 

The fundraising campaign is a collaboration of the City of York, El Centro Hispano Jose Hernandez and York County School of Technology.

Collection sites can be found at: City of York - Bureau of Health, West York Borough Building, The Parliament Arts Organization, Union Lutheran Church, LifePath Christian Ministries, Next Level Barbershop, Buchart Horn Inc., York County SPCA, Rep. Carol Hill-Evans' office and the office of Mayor Glenn P. Wascovich in Hallam.

According to the Facebook event page, items that are being accepted include nonperishable food items, clothes, shoes, non-liquid toiletries, bug repellent wipes, baby items, diapers and camping and pet supplies. Cash and checks are also being accepted and should be made payable to Centro Hispano.
