Springettsbury Township Police are investigating an assault that occurred earlier this week following a hit-and-run.

Sgt. Brian Wilbur said a woman's car was struck at about 4 p.m. Monday, Dec. 18, in the 100 block of Pleasant Acres Lane

The woman's car was struck by a 2005 Honda Civic, and she then followed the vehicle as it fled to get the car's license plate, he said.

She followed the car to the 2600 block of East Market Street, where the two vehicles were stopped at a traffic light, according to the sergeant. 

There, an occupant in the vehicle got out and struck the woman in the face before fleeing, Wilbur said.

The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information on the incident is asked to call Springettsbury Township Police at 717-757-3525. Officer Fred Lucas is investigating the incident.
