The second testing of the emergency sirens at the Peach Bottom Atomic Power Station will happen next week.
Exelon Generation said in a news release that the full-volume test of the emergency warning sirens will happen at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 6. It is one of two tests conducted each June and December.
The emergency warning system consists of nearly 100 sirens in the 10-mile radius of the station, according to the release. The sirens are not a signal to evacuate but a warning to tune to local emergency alert broadcasts, the release states.
