Wrightsville man allegedly molested girl
A Wrightsville man allegedly molested a young girl over the past two years, according to officials.
York County detectives say Collin Raye Hertel, 20, also texted the girl and asked her to "send him pictures of her body parts."
Hertel, of the 200 block of Hellam Street, is charged with indecent assault of a person younger than 13, indecent assault without the consent of others, indecent assault of a person younger than 16, and corruption of minors.
Allegations: The victim, who is known to Hertel, told authorities that Hertel molested her from the time she was 12 until she was 14, according to court documents.
He texted her and asked if he could touch and kiss her, officials said. Hertel also asked if she would give him oral sex, officials said.
He sent her a picture of himself touching his genitals and asked her to "send him pictures of her body parts," charging documents allege.
Officials say the victim did not send him pictures.
According to court documents, Hertel was tickling the girl at some point this past summer, and while doing that he touched her genitals over her pants. The victim was scared and locked herself in a bathroom, officials said.
Hertel spoke with Detective Dana Ward in October and admitted to all the things the victim reported, according to police.
"Hertel was apologetic for his actions and stated he wasn't thinking right," Ward wrote in charging documents.
Charges were filed Monday, Nov. 13, and Hertel was arraigned on them that day.
He remains free on $25,000 unsecured bail, meaning if he misses court proceedings he could forfeit up to that amount.
Hertel does not have an attorney listed, and a number for him could not be found.
His preliminary hearing is scheduled for Nov. 30 at District Judge Robert Eckenrode's office.
