A York-area man suffered a gunshot wound to his leg in York City, according to police.

Capt. Troy Bankert said Daiqwann Maleek Stewart, 21, was shot in the 100 block of North Penn Street about 9:35 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 9.

“Officers responded on scene and rendered aid, called an ambulance, (the) ambulance came and took him to York Hospital," he said.

Stewart suffered a non-life-threatening wound, according to the captain. He said officials believe Stewart was targeted.

No arrests have been made. Bankert said police are still investigating what led up to the shooting.
