Old Orchard Road reopens in Springettsbury Township

A stretch of Old Orchard Road, located over a tributary to Kreutz Creek in Springettsbury Township, reopened to traffic Thursday, Oct. 12, after being closed for nearly two months, according to a news release from PennDOT.

A bridge over Kreutz Creek on Old Orchard Road, located between Stonewood Road and Locust Grove Road, was replaced with a concrete box culvert and reopened on Thursday, Oct. 12.

The crossing, located between Stonewood Road and Locust Grove Road, has been closed since Aug. 25 to replace a structurally deficient bridge with a concrete box culvert, the release states.

The former bridge was built in 1953.

PennDOT contracted with York-based construction company Kinsley Construction to perform the replacement project at a cost of $405,608, according to the release.
