Coroner: Drowning victim reportedly with caregivers when wheelchair rolled off dock

Police, ambulance and water rescue units were on the scene at the marina at Codorus State Park on Sunday, Oct. 15, 2017.

A man who drowned in Codorus State Park's Lake Marburg Sunday. Oct. 15, was visiting the park with caregivers when his wheelchair rolled off a dock and into the water, according to the York County Coroner's Office.

The coroner's office was called to the scene at around 5:15 p.m., according to the 911 media log.

The 60-year-old man was found in about 15 feet of water in the lake, according to Deanna Schall, park manager.

The marina is off Blooming Grove Road in the park, which is located in Manheim Township.

Codorus State Park Rangers are investigating the death, according to the coroner. His name and address will be released pending notification of next of kin.
