A Hanover woman remains in York County Prison after officials say she kicked a deputy in the crotch.
Heidi Lynn Brown, 30, of the 300 block of Second Avenue, is charged with assault by prisoner, attempted simple assault and disorderly conduct.
According to the York County Sheriff's Office, Brown was taken to the central booking unit Oct. 1, when she assaulted the deputy.
Allegations: Hanover Police were taking Brown to central booking about 3:30 a.m. and requested assistance from deputies, according to charging documents.
Police arrived with Brown shortly after 4 a.m., and three deputies approached the police vehicle Brown was in and gave her several orders to exit the vehicle, officials said.
She did not get out of the car, and a deputy had to pull her from the vehicle and escort her to a chair, where she continued resisting, court documents state.
While in the chair, Brown kicked the deputy in the crotch, officials said.
Deputies had to place her on the ground, shackle her and handcuff her, before escorting her to a holding cell, police said.
Brown was taken to York County Prison in lieu of $2,500 bail. She remained there as of Monday, Oct. 9. She does not have an attorney listed.
Her preliminary hearing is scheduled for 9:15 a.m. Oct. 31 at District Judge Linda Williams' office.
