The Route 452 bridge over Fishing Creek, which was scheduled to be closed this week, will now be closed a week later, according to a news release from the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation.

PennDOT said construction on the New Bridgeville Road bridge over Fishing Creek at the township line between Chanceford and Lower Windsor townships is now expected to begin during the week of Oct. 9 and is scheduled to be finished by late December.

The construction was previously scheduled to start Monday, Oct. 2.

During the time of the closure, drivers can follow a detour along Richmond Road and Burkholder Road, according to PennDOT.

Weather may affect the closure schedule.

The bridge is one of 558 bridges being replaced in the state under the Rapid Bridge Replacement Project.
