Coroner: Elderly Springetts Twp. man dies after fall outside home

An elderly Springettsbury Township man died after falling from a ladder outside his home, according to the York County Coroner’s office.

Ronald Brenneman, 81, of the 100 block of Throne Avenue in Springettsbury Township, was found lying on the ground near a ladder just outside his home after 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 29. 

According to the coroner’s news release, Brenneman had climbed a ladder and was cleaning out his gutters before appearing to fall off the ladder.

He was pronounced dead at the scene by Deputy Coroner Jeffri Goodfellow at 8:06 p.m.

Police: York College student likely injured in fall

Brenneman was last seen at about 12:30 p.m., according to the report.

Updates sent out via Twitter after notifying Brenneman’s family revealed his cause of death as blunt force trauma from an accidental fall.

Springettsbury Township police is investigating the incident.

No autopsy will be scheduled, according to the release.
