Man arrested and charged in Spring Grove pharmacy robbery

Police arrested a suspect in the January robbery of a Spring Grove pharmacy, according to a news release posted Friday, Sept. 22.

Southwestern Regional Police arrested one man and are searching for another after a Jan. 10 robbery at Kennie's Market, 440 North Main St., Spring Grove.

Jahandar R. Darvish, 20, was charged with robbery, theft and receiving stolen property.

The North Bethesda, Maryland, man is one of two men who allegedly stole prescription medication from behind the counter of Kennie's Market, 440 N. Main St., on Jan. 10, police said.

Southwestern Regional Police were assisted by four Maryland police departments, which were investigating  similar thefts.

Darvish is in custody in Howard County, Maryland.

Of the suspects originally named in the case, one was a  male in his late teens wearing a light-colored long-sleeved shirt with long black pants and short dreadlocks, and the other was a  male in his late teens wearing a green hooded sweatshirt. 

Police reported in January that one suspect fled with another male after taking the prescription medication — in liquid form and bottles — from behind the counter.

The investigation is ongoing as police attempt to file charges regarding the second suspect.
